Cornea, Cataract, Diseases, and Surgery of the Anterior Segment
Dr. Bushley graduated Cum Laude from Dartmouth College and received his medical degree, with distinction, from the George Washington University School of Medicine. Following his ophthalmology residency at Madigan Army Medical Center, he spent three years as a comprehensive ophthalmologist and served as Director of Refractive Eye Surgery at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu. He then completed a fellowship in Cornea, External Diseases, and Refractive Surgery at the Duke University Eye Center in North Carolina. Dr. Bushley was employed by Franciscan Medical Group in Tacoma, WA for four years before joining Consulting Ophthalmologists, P.C. in 2012.
Dr. Bushley is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, Cornea Society, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has written several book chapters and published multiple papers in peer-reviewed journals and currently serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr. Bushley is board certified in ophthalmology with a subspecialty interest in the treatment of corneal diseases, cataracts and disease and surgery of the anterior segment. He is on the Active Medical Staff at Hartford Hospital and has surgery privileges at Hartford Hospital Ambulatory Surgery Center as well as Hartford Hospital’s Eye Surgery Center in Newington.
