Glaucoma, Cataract, Diseases, and Surgery of the Anterior Segment
Dr. Emerick received his undergraduate degree with distinction (Phi Beta Kappa) from Stanford University and his medical degree from the University of California, San Diego. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia and his glaucoma fellowship at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami. Before joining Consulting Ophthalmologists in 2006, he was Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Director of the Glaucoma Service at Loyola University Chicago. He is currently on the faculties of the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and the Yale School of Medicine.
Dr. Emerick has had a distinguished career with many scientific publications and lectures throughout the country. He is an examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology, has received the Achievement Award and Secretariat Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), and is chair of the Glaucoma Knowledge Base Committee for the AAO. Dr. Emerick is proud to be recognized as one of Connecticut’s Best Doctors for the past several years. Along with his involvement in other regional and national medical associations, Dr. Emerick is committed to volunteer service, including several trips to the Hospital de la Familia in Nuevo Progreso, Guatemala. He specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma, cataract, and diseases of the anterior segment of the eye. Dr. Emerick has surgical privileges at the University of Connecticut and Hartford Hospital.
