Diseases of the Macula, Retina, and Vitreous
Dr. Ward completed a Residency in Ophthalmology and a Fellowship in Diseases and Surgery of the Retina and Vitreous at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and a Fellowship in Ophthalmic Pathology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. Prior to his move to Connecticut, Dr. Ward served as Director of the Ophthalmology Residency Program at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center and as the Ophthalmology Consultant to The Surgeon General of the Army. He has been awarded the Order of Military Medical Merit from the Army Medical Department and the Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Ward is on the Active Medical Staff at Hartford Hospital and Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.
Dr. Ward is board certified and specializes in the consultation and treatment of retinal diseases including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, and retinal vascular disorders.
